Our principal and staff
Our school team is committed to every student’s learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging. We work together to create a supportive and inclusive school where every child is set up for success.
Welcome from our principal
Welcome to Concord Public School!
At Concord Public School, we pride ourselves on being a close-knit community where every student and family feels a strong sense of belonging. Our parents, carers, and wider community play an active role in school life, with our dedicated Parents and Citizens’ Association (P&C), parent-run canteen, and uniform shop all contributing to the warm, supportive culture that makes our small school so special.
Our dedicated staff are committed to public education and the diversity it embraces. We value early intervention and provide smaller class sizes in the junior years, allowing teachers to work closely with every child. By nurturing individual strengths and supporting every need, we strive to instil a lifelong love of learning. Our teachers are highly skilled, passionate, and enthusiastic about creating opportunities for every student to thrive.
We are proud to offer a wide range of specialist programs including MultiLit programs such as InitialLit and MacLit, English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D), Learning Support, and Italian. These programs ensure that the unique needs of all students are met.
Our Performing Arts programs, including Choir and Dance Troupe, are a highlight of our school, with students regularly performing at key events such as Open Day, Grandparents Day, Kindergarten Orientation, and Presentation Day. Students also have the opportunity to pursue music through private tuition arranged through the school.
We are also home to three Inclusive Classes for students with autism, which opened in 2019. Our Harmony Garden, developed with the support of our P&C, reflects our commitment to inclusion, diversity, and acceptance, providing a safe and welcoming space where all children can play together.
In 2024, we were honoured to receive the International Students Program School Excellence Award, recognising the unique programs and support we provide for our international students and their families.
Our beautiful, green grounds are another source of pride. Surrounded by the parklands of Concord, we value and preserve these spaces, ensuring our students have a natural, open environment for learning and play.
I warmly invite you to visit our school. If you would like to learn more or arrange a personal tour, please don’t hesitate to contact us. All visitors are welcome, and we look forward to sharing our wonderful school community with you.
Warm regards,
Justine Soteriou, Acting Principal of Concord Public School
